Customer brought in for us his Gallien-Krueger Backline 112 combo bass amp, with a complaint of popping sounds. While technically a practice-amp, this little brute carries 100 watts of power into a 12″ speaker, with a number of useful features including foot-switchable overdrive, contour control for mid-frequency tone shaping, and a headphone jack.
We couldn’t duplicate or replicate the customer’s complaint at this time, so we released it with no additional charges beyond our standard minimum bench diagnostic fee, with a note and recommendation to the customer that should it act up again: bring it on back—we’ll recheck it no charge of course.
